King Edwards - Prize Evening

On 5th January, some of our high achieving 2016 leavers were invited back to college along with their parents, staff members and distinguished guests for an evening celebrating their accomplishments over the two years they spent at King Ed’s.

The evening was a celebratory occasion, with addresses from the Chair of Governor and the Principal, presentation of prizes and musical interludes provided by students Amy Price (S. Peter’s Collegiate School), Grace Whyte (Blessed Edward Oldcorne Catholic College) and Harry Fletcher (Redhill).

Alumnus Dr Clare Taylor, who was awarded an MBE in 2015 for services to general practice, was present as guest speaker and to distribute prizes to the winners. She spoke to the students about her time at King Edward’s and gave them useful advice to consider for their future endeavours.

Everyone in attendance thoroughly enjoyed the event and many of the students and parents enjoyed the opportunity to catch up with staff over refreshments in the Muse café following the event.
